Short biography:
Camille Thomas is a researcher in geomicrobiology. He obtained a PhD in Earth Sciences at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and has worked as a postdoctoral scientist since 2015. He is specialized in the study of lake sediments, subsurface biosphere and organomineralizations.
My engagement with/interest in Open Science:
I have co-founded a scholar-led Diamond Open Access Journal in my field of geosciences, called Sedimentologika. I am a member of the steering committee of the journal and its journal manager. Additionally, I am part of a wider group actively promoting Diamond Open Access publishing in geosciences. I am an advocate of open science practices, implementing them in my research through data sharing in open repositories, transparent and signed reviews, use of open software and preprint servers. I also communicate about these practices at conferences and workshops, and on social media.
