We invite you to subscribe to an open mailing list, which will be used to share news and events (e.g., webinars we will be organizing) regarding Public Engagement within ENLIGHT and beyond, as well as it will be an open forum where you and your colleagues can discuss dilemmas and best practices regarding Public Engagement.
The list is intended for everyone in ENLIGHT for whom Public Engagement is a dedicated part of their job; you are free to invite colleagues to whom this applies. We aim for those who have as their main task to do, support, manage or facilitate Public Engagement.
By creating the mailing list, we aim to set up a community of practice on Public Engagement within the ENLIGHT-Network, to exchange experiences, learn from each other and together and thus make ENLIGHT’s Public Engagement and collaboration with civil society more interactive.

Within ENLIGHT, we are working on Public Engagement and offer a new opportunity to discuss your "Public Engagement" activities with colleagues from all over the ENLIGHT consortium.
Public engagement describes the myriad of ways in which the activity and benefits of higher education and research can be shared with the public. Engagement is by definition a two-way process, involving interaction and listening, with the goal of generating mutual benefit. (NCCPE).
Our Work Package is aimed to foster genuine engagement of civil society actors (citizens, civil society organizations, communities, municipalities, non-profits/3rd sector) in ENLIGHT research and innovation activities (from setting research agendas to executing the research, analysing and interpreting findings and discussing follow-up and creating impact), thus co-creating knowledge, as well as including students in this collaboration.
HELP US BUILD AN ENLIGHT PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT DATABASE
One of our goals is to build a large database of Public Engagement within the ENLIGHT alliance. A first overview of Public Engagement activities and structures for Public Engagement at ENLIGHT universities is given in our first deliverable (D6.1). We want to expand and update this inventory and build a bigger database, which will make it even easier for all of us to find inspiration or connect for advice or collaboration. Therefore, we invite all representatives of Public Engagement units or activities not identified in our initial survey to submit their activities HERE.
