The ENLIGHT student representatives (Bilbao, June 2024)
About the ENLIGHT Student Network
The ENLIGHT Student Network brings together official student representatives from the 10 ENLIGHT universities representing the interests of over 330.000 students of ENLIGHT in policy- and decision-making of ENLIGHT and building a European student community. In total, the Student Network consists of 20 people – 2 per ENLIGHT university
Two teams: Governance and Community
The Student Network consists of two distinct teams: Student Network Governance is responsible for the student representation and strategic decision making within ENLIGHT. Student Network Community is responsible for building an ENLIGHT community and promoting ENLIGHT, connecting with our student organizations. Both teams are led by an elected Student Board who make sure both teams run smoothly and represent the network on the highest decision-making level.
External Cooperation
Besides the main Student Network activities, the Student Network also cooperates with its partners on a European level to ensure the student voice is heard. These are the projects that the Student Network cooperates with:
- European Student Union: The aim of ESU is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students at the European level towards the European Commission.
- FOREU2 committee: FOREU2 offers peer-per-peer learning between alliances. The Student Board meets 2-3 times per year with other alliance board members to share our experience and insights.
- European Student Assembly: ESA is all about inspiration, motivation, and new friendships. ENLIGHT Student Network selects, prepares and sends a delegation of 8-10 students from our 10 partners to debate European politics with their peers. In three days, these students debate, draft proposals and vote on recommendations to propose to the European parliament.
