IaH presents: Riding the waves of Internationalisation at Home through deeper and different connections |
Be inspired by colleagues’ stories from around the world: some will share how they have been able to ride the waves in implementing Internationalisation at Home (IaH) in their institutions while others will reflect on how they have navigated when the currents were against them. In any case, connecting with colleagues across and beyond the institution is crucial within the IaH ecosystem. Collectively, participants will explore collaboration within and beyond their institutions and the significance of working in more networked structures. https://www.eaie.org/rotterdam/programme/programme-overview/activity/2007.html |

COIL and virtual exchange as a fluid practice: How to get students on board |
Institutions highlight the benefits of Collaborative Online International Learning and virtual exchange from the perspective of programmes, curricula and research. Students are meant to be the main beneficiaries of COIL but have been forgotten as relevant stakeholders. Can they be considered ‘co-creators’? Can COIL be an instrument for inclusion? This session will look at how to train, include and empower students to create a fluid and dynamic exchange. https://www.eaie.org/rotterdam/programme/programme-overview/activity/270.html |

In this campfire session, you will be invited to explore the following questions: Can intercultural skills development be done at home? How can universities internationalise without mobility? And does internationalisation without mobility always require technology? https://www.eaie.org/rotterdam/programme/programme-overview/activity/3003.html |

For successful collaboration and learning, it is essential to create trust and a group feeling. But how to make this happen? Based on the experiences of virtual exchange seminars and international online summer schools, this poster provides an insight into which activities and elements can support the process of group formation and a sense of togetherness. https://www.eaie.org/rotterdam/programme/programme-overview/activity/293.html |

It takes two to tango: Tackling local challenges through various models of city–university cooperation |
Worldwide, there is a growing recognition that strategic partnering between cities and universities can bring substantial benefits for both sides. The question of how to organise such partnerships has been at the heart of the EUniverCities network since its launch in 2012 and is now also being addressed in the European Universities Initiative. In this session, we will discuss different models of city–university cooperation used by our partners and European Universities Initiative alliances. https://www.eaie.org/rotterdam/programme/programme-overview/activity/355.html |

Partnering with China: Academic collaborations in an increasingly polarised world |
China’s rise and increased tensions with the West cast a long shadow over academic cooperation. Can we afford to withdraw from the country that boasts the largest education and R&D systems in the world? This session presents fresh perspectives on the China debate: Should we divest from China and if so, how? Or can we continue our engagement on our own terms? https://www.eaie.org/rotterdam/programme/programme-overview/activity/433.html |
